Choir School Wins "Coming-Up-Taller" Award;
We Sing at the White House!

Our school was selected as one of 17 finalists in the 2005 Coming Up Taller program, after having been selected as a semifinalist in 2004. Each year, the President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities recognizes outstanding work in youth after-school and out-of-school arts and humanities programs nationwide. Our choir got to sing the National Anthem and a Zulu song at the White House and was presented the award by First Lady Laura Bush. Four days later, we were honored by state and city representatives. The announcement was made jointly by the President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities, the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the National Endowment for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Opera Delaware In November, 2004, fifteen Cathedral Choir School of Delaware treble choristers (seen at right) sang in Opera Delaware's production of Puccini's Turandot presented at Wilmington's Grand Opera House. They were especially thrilled to sing with Canadian soprano Othalie Graham who starred in the opera.
Lewes, Delaware On Sunday, December 5, 2004, the Intergenerational Choir of the Cathedral Church of Saint John, which includes members of the Choir School, sang an Evensong Concert for All Saints Episcopal Parish at St. George's Chapel near Lewes, Delaware.
